Is it because they are available only once a year?
Is it the cute little girls adorned with merit badges and smiles?
Is it the excitement of a table full of cookies outside your favorite restaurant or grocery store just waiting for you to crave?
Is it the anticipation of opening your favorite kind, the crinkle of the package and the smell of sweetness? And then....... Crunch. Success, you have had your first Girl Scout cookie.
The good news for all those calories taken in is that you supported a wonderful organization that teaches our young girls how to care for themselves, the community and the planet. From fitness to gardening and camping to crafts the Girl Scouts help girls of all ages learn many life lessons as they become a part of something special.
There is power in the cookie.
